The things that go wrong most often, and what to do about them.

My verification code has not arrived

The signup code is emailed, and it expires after ten minutes, so an old one will not work. Check the spam folder, then ask for a new code and use the newest email. If the address you typed has a mistake in it, start again with the right one: nothing is sent anywhere else.

We send at most three codes to one inbox in an hour and five in a day, and there is a daily limit across the whole site. Past a limit, asking again sends nothing, and the last code you were sent still works until it expires. If you have none that works, try again later.

I cannot sign in

You sign in with your email address and the password you chose when you signed up. There is no password reset link yet. If you have forgotten your password, report it below as a problem with your account, from the address you signed up with. A person resets it by hand and writes to you at that address, so it is not instant.

If your account has been suspended, signing in says so rather than leaving you guessing.

My CV link does not open

Ajuma stores the link you give us, not a copy of the file, so the sharing settings on that link are what an employer runs into. Open it in a private browser window: if you cannot read it while signed out, neither can they. Updating the link on your profile does not change applications you have already sent, which keep the link as it was on the day you applied.

An employer has not replied

Your applications page shows the real status of each one, including when it last moved. Employers have to give a reason when they reject an application, and you see that reason. You can withdraw an application at any time, which frees you to apply to the same role again later.

My posting is still under review

Every posting is read by a person before it goes live. If something needs changing you are told what, rather than having the posting disappear.

Reporting a posting or a message

No employer on Ajuma should ever ask you for money, for a fee to be considered, or for your bank or payment details. If one does, stop, do not pay, and tell us below. The same goes for a posting that is not a real job. See the terms for what we remove, and the privacy notice for what we store about you.

Report something, or ask us

Every report is read by a person. Reports of an employer asking for money, and of postings that are not real jobs, are worked first. We do not publish a reply time we are not sure we can keep, so there is not one here.

You can send this without an account. You will get a reference number, and a person will read it, but a reply cannot reach you through the site. The one exception is getting back into your account, where we write to the address you give. Signed in, any reply appears in your reports.

So we can find your report again. We do not add you to anything.

Names, amounts and dates help. You can paste the message they sent you.

You get a reference number back.
